Con Man

This is a poem from a girls perspective, for those people who think that their 'love' was fake. For those people that think that they were cheated.

Con Man

He came upto me in a storm,
With charisma, style and what not,
A charming man was my fantasy,
But, Ah! is he the one?

Time & time he seized control,
Feigning a dream so close,
He caught my heart in his palms,
As I lost my very stance.

Whispering things into my ears,
As giggles popped out,
Each time he said a word,
Shivers ran down my spine.

We talked we shared,
We lost control,
As promises were made,
Of a future so distant-close,
It could be held by my hands.

We got close- we got far,
Over a span of 2 weeks,
You got distant into the storm,
As I truly lost my signal.

Oh! What have you done to me,
My very little being,
For you have taken over me,
By creeping up in my thoughts.

What was I to you,
What did I mean,
Was I but a voodoo doll,
To play to your well tuned dream.

Like a rag doll put aside,
destroyed was my feelings,
Like a cigarette butt,
Was I put 'lights out'.

You are but a con man,
Lying through the way,
Making & taking things of ours,
That shouldn't be the same.

One fragile heart was cracked open,
By those nefarious hands,
Oh! For I have sinned,
For closing into your land.

This lil one will never be the same,
For I have gone through storms,
Oh nefarious lil devil,
You should watch out,
For I'll brew up a storm.

Aviary: Anguish Of A Withered Soul

I know what a caged bird feels, Alas!
Squatting in its wretched perch,
A being chiseled out of clay,
Longing for the day she can fly to the blue.

Each day the longing envelopes,
As she looks for the very clue,
The clue of her life that's waiting to lurk,
As the predator turns to its toes.

She knows as all caged birds do,
That one day she will flee,
And with that freedom she will glee,
As onwards to the sky she shall glide.

The wind shall hit her,
As she sails through the storms,
The smooth tidings and the heavy rain's,
She shall brave them all.

Longing for that happiness,
Beating her wings determined to be free,
She beats till her blood sheds on the bar,
She beats till it stains with her tears.

She awaits for the very day,
Knowing not whether she would attain,
That one thing she longs for,
Alas! I know what a caged bird feels.
